Rihanna is getting back to her roots with the lead single from her next album.

Confirmed by reps Wednesday, the as-yet-untitled album’s next single will be the next piece of music to come from the “Rated R” star, who will not release a follow up to singles like “Rude Boy,” “Te Amo” and “Rockstar 101″.

“She loves her fans and is trying to make the best album possible,” says her label SRP. “It will be a return to her pop roots but will have enough variety to please all her “true fans.”"

“Rated R,” her last album, was released in November of 2009.

Opening for Rihanna in Last Girl on Earth tour apparently has made Ke$ha “mildly infatuated” with the Barbadian songstress. In an interview backstage at 95.8 Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, the “Tik Tok” hitmaker dished on the possible duet.

“I had this like awesome idea [for second album] and wrote this like really stellar song,” Ke$ha said before continuing to reveal her interest to work with Rihanna. “I’m so excited to get to just kick it with her for months, so maybe you’ll see something that comes out of our hang time.”

Other than Rihanna, Ke$ha also sets her eyes on securing a collaboration with David Byrne and Robert Plant. “There are people I’d love to work with obviously. I have a wish list. I wanna work with some classics, like a David Byrne, like a Robert Plant,” she gushed.

Ke$ha is currently busy promoting her first studio album “Animal”. Due to hectic schedule, she recently canceled a number of promotional interviews in U.K. because she fell sick with a throat infection. But, she got a speedy recovery from the sore throat and rocked the Summertime Ball over the weekend. “We knew she was back to her old self when she started shouting ‘F**k!’ to the crowd,” a source said.

Rihanna recently opened up what’s to come for her forthcoming music video which is aimed to support single “Rude Boy”. While people speculated that it would be similar to her other raunchy videos for the previous “Rated R” singles, the Barbadian songstress herself assured fans it will be different.

“[It's] completely different from any other video I’ve shot before,” she told Carson Daly on his Amp Radio show. “A lot of my videos are really dark and edgy and tough. ‘Rude Boy’ is more playing along the lines from my roots.”

“We used a lot of color, but also the costumes were very Jamaican dance-hall queen type,” she added. The video is directed by Melina Matsoukas and reportedly will be premiered in early February.

The entire episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on January 21 was dedicated for Haitian earthquake. Rihanna, who is set to sing at the upcoming “Hope for Haiti” concert in London, delivered her rendition of Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” during the primetime talk show.

On what makes her dedicate “Redemption Song” for the victims, the Barbadian songstress told Oprah Winfrey, “Growing up, anytime there was a really difficult situation, I always listened to this song ’cause it was so liberating, and even now I listen to it when my back is up against the wall.” She added, “I feel like the people of Haiti need to hear something inspiring.”

“Often in a tragedy like this, it’s the children who suffer the most,” she further stated. “They have no way to get food, they’re helpless. The children are the future. I want everybody to do what they can right now. But it’s what’s going to happen six months from now that’s really going to count.”

In addition to Rihanna, Wyclef Jean and Maxwell were also present to support the cause and share their insight about the disaster. Maxwell who was raised by his Haitian grandmother commented, “It’s been devastating for me. My heritage is from there on some level.” He also performed his song “Fistful of Tears”.

As for Wyclef, the Haitian-born musician who will host “Hope for Haiti” in NYC talked about what people can do to bring relief to the Caribbean island. He also denied allegation that he enriches himself from his Yele organization which is formed to raise fund for the victims. But, he admitted that the non-profit organization “was poorly ran.” And now, he is going forward to make it “stronger than ever.”

Both “Redemption Song” cover version and “Fistful of Tears” have been up for digital purchase with all proceeds going to Haitian relief.

Rihanna is going to re-record her tracks in the “Rated R” album and release them in February. The revamped effort will be produced by DJ Brooklyn Zoo who spreads the news through his Twitter, “Def Jam hired me to remix 10 tracks of the album for a remix album release in February.”

“RockStar”, “Te Amo”, “Rude Boy” and “Wait Your Turn” among others are some of the songs that have been re-worked by the disc jokey. A sneak peek to the forthcoming remix album is promised to be put out sometime this month.

Rihanna’s fourth studio album, “Rated R” is led by single “Russian Roulette” and has been in U.S. stores since November 23. It pulled in over 181,000 copies in its first week on sale and debuted at No. 4 on Billboard Hot 200. By early January 2010, it was certified Platinum for selling more than 1 million copies.

Rihanna is taking “Rated R” straight to Miami just in time for Superbowl XLIV (NFL).

According Pepsi Super Bowl Fan Jam organizers, The “Hard” entertainer has signed on to join teen sensation Justin Bieber at one of its concerts leading up to the Superbowl.

Set to perform songs from “Rated R,” Rihanna will take the stage Thursday, February 4 on South Beach.

Pitbull, Nelly Furtado, and Paulina Rubio have also signed onto perform during a second show, which takes place Friday, February 5.

NFL players will also participate in the two concerts produced by Live Nation.

VH1 will televise Thursday night’s concert beginning at 9 p.m. ET and Friday night’s concert will be taped for airing on Telemundo on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 4:30 p.m. ET

Jay-Z is moving into the New Year with a brand new video !

According to NBC, Jay Z will premiere a music video for the single “On To The Next One” during its broadcast of ‘NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly”.

Produced by Swizz Beatz, “On To The Next one” follows Jay-Z’s successful run of chart-topping singles including “Empire State of Mind,” “Run This Town,” D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),” and the recently released “Young Forever”.

As previously reported, Jay Z will appear alongside Rihanna in two pre-taped performances on Carson Daly’s New Year’s Eve Special.

Rihanna plays it literally hard for “Hard” music video. She is the tough woman who has control over her military troop, a woman who walks through a minefield and a sexy girl who is not afraid to get dirty.

Directed by Melina Matsoukas, the video was premiered on MTV Thursday, December 17. To get some fans reaction of the video, MTV News brought the video to Times Square, in a small player, and noted down the comments. “It’s cool because it shows a lot of where she’s going and where she came from, and as far as she’s growing up and dealing with a lot of adversities that she’s been going through lately,” said a fan.

Rihanna herself had described the video as “something military”. She elaborated, “We have tanks, we have troops, we’ve got helicopters, we’ve got explosions. We’ve got lots of cute outfits, lots of bullets. It’s crazy!”

“Hard” is one of the tracks pulled out of “Rated R” as a single featuring Young Jeezy. The album was released on November 23 and sold 181,000 copies in its first week.

Rihanna is busy shooting a music video for her next single “Hard”. Met by MTV during the video shoot, she explained the concept, “It’s couture-military. Everything is surrounded by the whole idea of something military. We have tanks, we have troops, we’ve got helicopters, we’ve got explosions … Tight gear, lot’s of cute outfits, lot’s of bullets. Crazy.”

In addition, she also talked about her forthcoming tour which will be kicked off in spring next year. “The tickets are going to be up for presale in a couple weeks, actually,” she said. “It’s going to be a worldwide tour, so it’s going to be a very long tour.”

“[We're] coming out with different ideas and cool things that we can do. Things that we’ve never seen before, daring things – but now is when we really start with the rehearsal and we get into the nitty-gritty and the details of everything. I love taking risks. I’m not afraid of the unknown.”

“Hard” features Young Jeezy and is taken from Rihanna’s November 23 release “Rated R” which is currently sitting at No. 4 on Billboard Hot 200. Its music video is directed by Melina Matsoukas and yet to have any premiere date.

Most recently on December 3, Rihanna has performed at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Starting from 6 P.M. PT / 9 P.M. ET, the gig is made available for stream on her MySpace.

One day after Thanksgiving, Lady GaGa made her way to sing on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”. She opened the show with “Bad Romance” performance, playing the piano before then joining her backing dancers for up-beat dance routine. She also brought “Speechless” to close the November 27 talk-show.

Aside from having live performances, Lady GaGa also sat down with Ellen DeGeneres for an interview segment. Among other topics she talked about with the host were her younger years and outrageous outfits. When praised by Ellen for singing live, she said, “Aren’t we supposed to sing? It’s part of the gig isn’t it?”

On another news, Lady GaGa is confirmed to perform live on ITV1’s “The X Factor” along with Janet Jackson. The two will rock the show on December 6. Other big stars who are also expected to sing on upcoming episodes of the U.K. singing competition are Rihanna, Alicia Keys and Paul McCartney.
