After much talk about Lady Gaga’s nearly completed follow-up album, the world got it’s first taste of some new material from the pop superstar at her performance at Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball last Thursday.

While seated at one of her signature deconstructed pianos, Gaga told the crowd: “This is a brand-new record that no one’s ever heard before. And I’ve never, ever played it live, ever.” Gaga goes on to describe the new song, titled “You and I,” as “a bit of a rock n roll tune.”

Lady GaGa has started filming a music video with her featured guest Beyonce Knowles for their joint track “Telephone”. It reportedly is shot in a desert in Los Angeles and will pick up where the storyline of “Paparazzi” video left off with the same director Jonas Akerlund serving behind the lens.

Rumor has it, the video will follow GaGa when she is put behind the bars and rescued by Beyonce. One of GaGa’s Monster Ball supporting acts, Semi Precious Weapons, and comedian Luenell will make a cameo. Actor Tyrese Gibson is also said to be pursued for the leading man.

As for the outfit of the two female singers, GaGa’s designers Franc Fernandez and Oscar Olima are rumored to create destroyed denim pieces for them. This video is yet to have any premiere date.

Appearing in “The Fame Monster” album, “Telephone” is not Lady GaGa and Beyonce Knowles’ first duet. They previously hooked up in a song called “Video Phone” which is listed in Beyonce’s “I Am…Sasha Fierce [2nd Deluxe Edition]“.

On another news, Lady GaGa is rumored to serve as an opening act at the forthcoming Grammy Awards, singing one of the songs from “The Fame Monster”. It is suggested that she will make a surprise performance with Elton John.

Elton John has postponed tonight’s (October 30) gig at the Dublin O2 – the final night of his world tour – due to illness.

The singer had already pulled a series of tour dates previously, with an announcement on his official website, Eltonjohn.com, explaining that he had not recovered in time to be able to perform.

“He is bitterly disappointed not to playing Dublin,” John’s spokesperson said. “He had picked Dublin to close the Red Piano [tour] worldwide, because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years. He is hoping to reschedule the dates in the very near future.”

Ticketholders were advised by the gig’s promoters to retain their tickets and await details as they attempt to reschedule the show.
